Part 5: The Caliphs Who Were Erased and Replaced

The history of humankind on Earth is a tale filled with repetition. From one era to another, humans are given the opportunity to be caliphs, yet they eventually fall into oppression and destruction. Then, a new generation replaces them, and the cycle continues.

1️⃣ Given the opportunity to be a caliph.
2️⃣ Starting with faith, then gradually exceeding limits.
3️⃣ Prophets and messengers are sent as reminders.
4️⃣ Engaging in continuous oppression.
5️⃣ Allah S.W.T destroys them with punishment.
6️⃣ A new caliph is appointed.

Every civilization that has ever existed—no matter how great—eventually perished by their own hands. Their advancements could not save them from the decree of Allah S.W.T. In fact, those who rejected reminders and continued to commit injustice ultimately faced unimaginable punishment.

Today, we stand at a critical point in human history. Are we repeating the mistakes of past nations? Are we heading toward destruction, or is there still hope for us to change before it is too late?

Allah S.W.T states in Surah Yunus 10:13:

وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوا وَجَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

"And indeed, We destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people."
(Surah Yunus 10:13)

This verse emphasizes that a nation is not destroyed because Allah S.W.T is unjust toward them, but rather because they themselves choose the path of injustice.

1. Two Factors That Invite the Punishment of Allah S.W.T

Allah S.W.T does not inflict His punishment arbitrarily, but only when two conditions are met:

A. Committing oppression collectively

If oppression is committed by only a few individuals, then only those individuals will be punished. But when oppression becomes a norm accepted by the majority, the entire nation will face consequences.

Allah S.W.T states in Surah Al-Anfal 8:25:

وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَةً لَا تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْكُمْ خَاصَّةً ۖ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ

"And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty."
(Surah Al-Anfal 8:25)

B. Persistently Ignoring Warnings and Reminders

Allah S.W.T does not destroy a people as long as they still receive warnings and have opportunities to repent. However, when they continuously reject these warnings, destruction becomes inevitable.

Allah S.W.T states in Surah Al-Isra’ 17:16:

وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نُهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا

"And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent people (to obey Allah), but they defiantly disobey therein; so the word (of punishment) comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it with (complete) destruction."
(Surah Al-Isra’ 17:16)

📌 Punishment only arrives when warnings have been given repeatedly, yet people continue to ignore them.

2. Caliphs Who Were Replaced After Destruction

Allah S.W.T does not destroy a nation without reason. After the punishment befalls the oppressive people, new caliphs emerge who are given the opportunity to govern the Earth.

Allah S.W.T states in Surah Yunus 10:14:

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لِنَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

"Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may observe how you will do."
(Surah Yunus 10:14)

This cycle has repeated throughout human history:

1️⃣ Given the opportunity to be a caliph.
2️⃣ Starting with faith, then gradually exceeding limits.
3️⃣ Prophets and messengers are sent as reminders.
4️⃣ Engaging in continuous oppression.
5️⃣ Allah S.W.T destroys them with punishment.
6️⃣ A new caliph is appointed.

3. The Caliphate in the End Times

When the era of injustice reaches its peak, Allah S.W.T will restore true caliphate leadership through the leadership of Imam Mahdi.

This cycle is currently unfolding. We are approaching a significant turning point:

📌 Humanity is becoming increasingly corrupt, repeating the mistakes of past nations.
📌 Allah S.W.T will send a great trial as the final warning.
📌 The caliphate will be restored when the age of oppression ends.

Conclusion: We Are Being Tested in the Final Phase

💡 Throughout time, humans are continuously tested as caliphs.

✔ The test during hardship – Do we remain patient and grateful?
✔ The test during ease – Do we forget that all blessings are merely temporary?
✔ The test of leadership – Do we rule with justice, or do we oppress others?

🔴 Ease and hardship are merely human definitions. What we perceive as ease may be istidraj (a deceptive blessing before destruction), while what we see as hardship may be the path to Paradise.

💭 The reality is that every situation is a test to see how we act as caliphs on Earth.

❗ We are on the brink of the transition into the final caliphate era. If we want to be among those who are saved, we must choose the path of obedience to Allah S.W.T!
