Why Did the Messenger of Allah SAW Call Ahlul Bait to Come Under the Cloth in Ummu Salamah’s Home?

Ahlul Kisa' refers to five individuals whom the Messenger of Allah SAW covered with a single cloth: the Messenger himself, his daughter Fatimah, his two grandsons Hassan and Hussin and his son-in-law, Saidina Ali KW, who was also his cousin.

The term Ahlul Kisa' is used because all five of them were beneath a single cloth that served as a covering or veil during the event.

In discussions of Ahlul Bait, the event of Ahlul Kisa' is a matter that cannot be overlooked.

Various writings have discussed the identity of Ahlul Kisa'. Nevertheless, discussion examining why the Messenger of Allah SAW wrapped himself and his Ahlul Bait beneath that cloth remains extremely limited.

The Questions Behind the Event of Ahlul Kisa'

The main question that needs to be examined is why the Prophet called each individual separately to come under the cloth.

Furthermore, why did this event take place in Ummu Salamah’s home when there were many other homes belonging to the Prophet’s wives?

1. An understanding of Ahlul Bait and Ahlul Kisa' is an important key to understanding the final-stage fitnah in the end-times conflict.
2. The traces of Ahlul Kisa' will be targeted for destruction by As Sufyani.
3. The leader of As Sufyani and the Dajjal are individuals who will impersonate the Prophet’s Ahlul Bait.
4. I also do not want readers to be influenced by or follow the Shi'a explanation.

Without a deep understanding of the secrets of Ahlul Kisa', we are highly likely to be deceived by the incitement and operations of As Sufyani and the Dajjal.

Accordingly, I ask all readers to examine this explanation carefully and conduct more in-depth personal research into the matters discussed in this part and in the subsequent parts.

As a foundation for this discussion, the following hadith should first be examined.

Hadith Narrated by at-Tirmidhi 3787 (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، رَبِيبِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلمَّ ‏:‏ ‏(‏ إنمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا ‏)‏ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاطِمَةَ وَحَسَنًا وَحُسَيْنًا فَجَلَّلَهُمْ بِكِسَاءٍ وَعَلِيٌّ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ فَجَلَّلَهُ بِكِسَاءٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلاَءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي فَأَذْهِبْ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهِّرْهُمْ تَطْهِيرًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُمْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏"‏ أَنْتِ عَلَى مَكَانِكِ وَأَنْتِ إِلَيَّ خَيْرٍ ‏"‏ ‏. وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَمَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ وَأَبِي الْحَمْرَاءِ وَأَنَسٍ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏.‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏

Malay Translation:

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، رَبِيبِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

From 'Umar bin Abi Salamah, the step-son who was under the care of the Messenger of Allah SAW.

قَالَ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلمَّ ‏:‏

He said: “This verse was revealed to the Messenger of Allah SAW.”

‏(‏ إنمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا ‏)‏

“Indeed, Allah wishes to remove impurity from you, O Ahlul Bait, and purify you with a complete purification. (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33)”

فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاطِمَةَ وَحَسَنًا وَحُسَيْنًا فَجَلَّلَهُمْ بِكِسَاءٍ وَعَلِيٌّ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ فَجَلَّلَهُ بِكِسَاءٍ

“In the home of Ummu Salamah, the Prophet SAW called Fatimah, Hassan and Hussin, then covered them with a cloth. Ali was behind the Prophet, so he covered Ali with the cloth.”

ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلاَءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي فَأَذْهِبْ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهِّرْهُمْ تَطْهِيرًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Then he said, “O Allah, these are my Ahlul Bait. Remove impurity from them and purify them with a complete purification.”

قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُمْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ

Ummu Salamah said, “Am I included among them, O Messenger of Allah?”

قَالَ ‏"‏ أَنْتِ عَلَى مَكَانِكِ وَأَنْتِ إِلَيَّ خَيْرٍ ‏"‏ ‏.

He said, “You are in your place, and you are better with me.”
